Our Thunder Bay DriveWise Team has a combined driver education experience of over 78 years.
As a part of the Driver Rehabiliation Program at the St. Joseph's Care Group for the past 13 years, we have the experience to train clients that have needs for adaptive vehicle controls. We are the only training facility in NorthWestern Ontario to have a training vehicle equipped with hand controls (gas/brake), left foot gas pedal and other controls to adapt to our clients needs. We work closely with doctors, occupational therapists and medical equipment suppliers to provide this needed and important service.
We are proud to have contributed to the studies of older drivers performed by Michel Bedard, Ph.D. - Public Health, Lakehead University. We are grateful for the opportunity to have worked on four past studies - we are excited about our future with this work and the effort to improve the tools for older drivers to maintain their licence as long as safely possible.
Services
Members of our team are qualified to provide the Canada Safety Council programs. Including the DIC and DDC programs.
We are the most complete driving school in Thunder Bay.
We have classroom, in-car and simulation.
Work with senior drivers through St Joseph's Care Group and participate in studies with Lakehead University.
Only training vehicle in NorthWestern Ontario to training with adaptive equipment (hand controls, left foot gas, etc.)
Will take students for their Road Test at the DriveTest centre (even if they didn't take our course).
Full time office staff.
Full time classroom (not shared space)
Two instructors in the classroom.
Total private lessons - no overlap of students.
Accept debit, credit cards and have a payment plan.
CPS Unit testing - hand held remotes to participate in the class.
Scan Gauge II in cars to teach eco-driving.
Interlock breathalyzer in the classroom.
More experienced instructors.
Training large and small fleets as their corporate defensive driver training company of choice.
National program that was built by experienced instructor country wide and with the over site of a Master Instructor (only 8 in the province of Ontario).
